Edible Oil Filtration

Edible Oil Filtration

Filtration is a key process in the purification of edible/vegetable/biodiesel oil industry.

Sulphurnet provides solutions for different process steps, such as bleaching, hydrogenation, and deodorization. The main goals are to remove undesirable particles and to maintain the quality of the oil.

Sulphurnet offers more than 30 years of experience in the edible oil industry. Sulphurnet’s strengths include a dedicated team focused on edible oil filtration. In addition to various types of filter systems, Sulphurnet provides Filter Leaves as well as repairing and remeshing for existing systems.

Depending on the type of oil:

  • Crude oil filtration to remove feet
  • Miscella filtration for lecithin production
  • Bleached oil filtration for color and component removal
  • Winterised oil filtration for cold stability enhancement and waxes removal
  • Nickel catalyst filtration post-hydrogenation
  • Residual catalyst filtration for solid nickel removal
  • Deodorised oil filtration for impurity removal formed during deodorisation
  • Safety filtration to enhance filtrate quality and protect equipment
  • Polishing filtration to improve product quality

Special Winterising Filter Systems

Sulphurnet offers a special solution for winterising applications.

Sulphurnet Filter Leaves are equipped with internal heating assemblies from construction. Filtration occurs at low temperatures, causing the temperature inside the Filter Leaves to rise upon completion. Due to the temperature increase the filter cake is automatically removed by releasing the filter cake. With this solution, labour costs are reduced to a minimum.
